Day 174: Journal Pages
“Good human qualities—honesty, sincerity, a good heart—cannot be bought with money or produced by machines, but only by the mind itself.”
Yeah, well…it’s all about the mind. Right? These 174 days so far, I have learned that the mind is the greatest tool or the worst enemy of the artist, or of anyone, really. Your mind can create your world; your universe.
Your mind makes the world around you. There are people who believe that everything around you is just an illusion. Actually, I read somewhere that the world around you, is the one thing that cannot be proven. It’s as if everything around you is an illusion. If this is such, then we must wonder why it is that we insist on accumulating so much crap. Why do we insist on creating negativity around us?
Let us approach the world as children do, with innocence and joy. Let us look at the world with wonder, and cease thinking about all the negative things.
Work at your life. Make things better. Create your happiness and peace in your life. Don’t create negativity in your life. I’ve quote the Buddha before, and I’ll do it again, with the one most powerful quote: “All that you are is a result of all that you’ve thought”. So think about that. Really think about it.
Focus on the good things in your life. Focus on the things you can change, and change them. Make the negative things positive. If you can’t change it, accept it and move on.
Today’s creative endeavor, is journal pages. These were ripped out from a book, because I have big plans for the book (but that is, of course, a separate blog post).
These pages will probably go in something else, I suppose.
What do you think? You like them?
I’ll leave you with an assignment for tomorow’s craft: go pick out your favorite recipe cards and clippings. Also, save your cardboard boxes.
